Canada Work Permit

All of Canada is great. It has been graded as one of the best countries to live by the apex world governing body, United Nations. It stands in the second position in natural and oil resources. It is a most preferred destination for immigrants for its high quality living, security, high life expectancy, balanced economy. The factors allure the job seekers who want to shift to a different country. Its proximity to U.S. boosts the chances for the immigrants who are seeking job opportunities. Canada is rich in natural resources, which is an added advantage. Mining, forestry and oil have formed a stronghold of Canadian exports and trade for a period of time. As far as the energy resources are concerned more than 50% of Canada’s total resource wealth, followed by timber and mineral resources.

The manufacturing sector contributes 31% to the GDP and continues to be dominated by automobile production and other large equipment and farm equipment.
 
There are different types of work visas:-

Work permit Canada

Every year thousand of foreign skilled workers come to work in Canada on Temporary Work Permits. Canadian work permit makes provision for working in Canada without the need to undergo a Point -Based Assessment. In order to work in Canada on a temporary basis, foreign skilled workers must have an employment offer from a Canadian employer and be granted a Labour Market Impact Assessment by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

Process to Acquire the Visa (Canada Work Permit)

Before a Canada Work Permit can be issued, the Canadian employer who wishes to hire temporary foreign workers will need to apply for and be granted a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). ESDC will grant a positive LMIA if they are satisfied that there is no Canadian permanent resident or citizen available to do the job. You should apply as soon as you receive written evidence of your job offer or contract of employment and your Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) of ESDC. You must show the Immigration departments officer that you meet the requirements and that you will be in Canada for a temporary stay. You must also:
 
  • satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your employment,· and that you have reasons to go back
  • Evidence that you meet the requirements of the job. Proof may include educational requirements or past work experience outlined in a resume.
  • show that you have enough money during your stay in Canada to take care of yourself and your family members and to return home,
  • be law-abiding and have no record of criminal activity,
  • be in good health,· not be a danger to the security of Canada,
  • If your documents are in a language other than English or French, they should be translated in English
  • provide any additional documents requested by the officer to establish your admissibility.
Benefits
 
Once a Work visa has been issued, a Temporary Work visa holder will be allowed to live and work in Canada for a specified period of time, generally up to 4 years. The spouse and children may also be eligible to work and study during the stay. A Foreign Worker may also be eligible to have their application for permanent residence processed during their temporary stay in Canada, allowing them to become permanent residents of Canada, if the application is approved.

Low skill work permit Canada

The Low level Skill work permit visa allows temporary entry of foreign workers into National Occupational Classification (NOC) with only low level skills. Low skill level positions usually require a high school diploma or job-specific training.

Highlights of Canada Low Level Skill Work Permit Visa

  • If a Low level Skill work visa has been issued, applicants will be allowed to live and work in Canada for a specified period of time, generally 2 years.

  • While dependent on the specific job offer, it may be possible to extend the Low-Skill work visa if they wish to continue working in Canada for a maximum duration of 24 months, though applicants can apply for an extension or a new work permit.

Quebec skilled worker Visa

Under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration, Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who will adapt well to living in Quebec (Canada).Qubec welcomes immigrants with their know-how, skills, language, culture and religion. Qubec provides services to help them integrate and participate fully in Qubec society.

Visa Acquiring Process (Quebec-selected skilled)

  • Before applying to IRCC Immigration, Refugees amd Citizenship Canada for Quebec-selected skilled worker visa you must first apply to the Quebec government for a certificate of selection (Certificat de slection du Qubec). This is the official document that shows that the Government of Quebec has accepted you to that province.

  • Eligibility for Quebec-selected skilled worker visa is based on the following seven criteria which are evaluated through a points based system: your profile, training, work experience, knowledge of French and English, your ties to Qubec and the stays you have had here in the past, an employment offer made by an employer in Qubec, and information regarding the accompanying spouse or common-law spouse.

  • The current pass mark is set at 55 points for single applicants and 63 points for applicants with accompanying partners/spouses.

To be selected under the Quebec Skilled Worker visa, applicants must:

  • Hold at least one diploma that corresponds to a Secondary School Diploma in Quebec.

  • Possess at least 6 months of eligible work experience.

  • Have acquired training and occupational skills that will facilitate the applicant's insertion into the job market.

  • Have adequate knowledge of French or English

  • You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family members after you arrive in Canada.

  • The money must be available to support the costs of living for yourself and your family. You cannot borrow this money.

  • The applicant is required to satisfy certain health and character requirements to meet the Quebec-selected skilled worker visa criteria.

Benefits for this Visa

  • If your application for Quebec-selected skilled worker visa is approved, the visa office will issue a permanent resident visa to you. Your permanent resident visa includes your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and your entry visa.

  • As permanent residents, you and your family members will have the right to access to most social benefits accorded to Canadian citizens·

  • Apply for Canadian citizenship, and if granted, apply for a Canadian passport once you have been a legal permanent resident for three of the four previous years.
